What are you going to do next season (2010)?

Postby DianeAllen on Fri Oct 23, 2009 10:20 am

Hi Everybody!

What are you going to do next season?

Are you going to train with the TriBabes (or another group)? I'm hoping to stay with my biking enough this winter so that I feel comfortable volunteering to be a wave leader. Thank you to everyone who did that last season. I can go-go-go on my bike, but, LOL, am finally learning how to Stop ;)

Are you going to do the Danskin? Did you sign up at the event? I did, but I'm thinking that next year may be the last year I do the Danskin. I'd like to improve enough next year to start thinking about "graduating" to Olympic events. That will take a lot of work on my part, but it's always nice to have goals :)

What about the TriTurtleTri? Are you going to do that next year? I only volunteered this year. Next year I'd like to do the event.

And last, but far from least, what about the Trek? I'm definitely doing that next year although I haven't signed up yet (for financial reasons). They are allowing early signups so I'll do it when my budget permits.

Anyone planning to do the Black Diamond?

btw, I set up one of these forums for a similar group, and I noticed that if there are no posts for 60 days, the powers-that-run this delete it. That may not be true for this particular forum if the team is purchasing some value-added services... but if they aren't, and if you like having this as a resource, put it on your list to check once in a while and chat with your fellow TriBabes.

best,

Diane

Hi Diane

My husband and I did the Tri Turtle Tri this year. It was certainly a first for us and unlike anything we've ever done. It was a great experience. We plan on doing it again next year.

I've been doing some spin classes recently. They're quite a workout. I hope to be at a better starting point next spring than last :)

Warmest regards,
Lisa Cree

Hi Lisa,

yep, it's easy to underestimate those stationery trainers -- Oh I was soooo jealous of those turtle metals.... I love honus (tutle in hawaiian) -- sure hope I can go for one next year!

So are you doing your spin classes at the Poulsbo Athletic Club? Deb (the "gates" half of the other allen and gates :)) works out there. I got a stand from Silverdale Cyclery so have brought my bike indoors for the season. Those Hawaii Rides cds that Lisa sent us a link to last summer are pretty good rides, although sometimes I just watch regular TV... a cooking show or something else that doesn't require much concentration

whooya! D

I pre-registered for the Danskin, because I always do an event at least twice. Once to set my time and once to better it. I will continue to train with the Tribabes and do the TriTurtle. (my first registered event was the Rhody Run in Port Townsend, a 12k and I will do that again as well.) At this time I am not sure I will sign up for any others. Thanks for asking. Karen
